My Grandmother's Dress

 For a girl who loves vintage this dress is pure gold!

It used to belong to my ultra stylish granny Sima who probably bought it in the 60's and wore it on her barely 5 foot frame. Lucky for me at 5.6 it comes up to just the right spot above my knee.  

Needless to say, the dress is absolutely fire flower rockabilly tastic!

Today I am wearing a wonderfully comfortable and chic blue vintage pencil skirt that came from my lucky Goodwill. The belt is one of my favorites and comes from a little store around the corner from my work called Runway Boutique

Every Journey Starts With Some First Steps

 Here's the first -hopefully of many posts of things that I'm making as I teach myself to sew. This bag is a birthday present for a friend. 

So the idea is, to sew 20 bags. I figure that by then I'll be good at it and can move on to something else. Please send ideas or requests if you have any-I'd like the challenge :-)

So excited about the vintage tartan skirt I found at my lucky Goodwill over the weekend. My fave E-bay vintage boots underneath and a good solid white button up shirt to top it off. oh and a good little find in the belt.

Summer Solstice!!

Yesterday I had a really lucky day at the Goodwill near Sunset and Vine. they were having a sale on dresses and I picked up this precious lil dress by Gap for $6,00. The boots are my fave vintage pair off E-bay and the belt I found at a thrift store in San Francisco last year. The earrings came free from a clothing swap and the fan I borrowed. Whole outfit probably cost under $25 :-)

I'm really looking forward to this weekend, I'm building masks for  Lightning in a Bottle !! the plan is to use the same process that I used to create my Zebra mask, with sticky brown paper strips in stead of regular paper mache', it's really easy and far less messy! Cowboy and I are planning on geeking out on our stilts and becoming Egyptian Gods (Anubis and Bastet )... I'm just excited to make masks again :-)
